Celebrating 100 years of Higginson Park!  Free family activity. 23-31 May - Birthday Bunting Share your memories and your creativity by helping to design birthday bunting that celebrates 100 years of Higginson Park. Just drop in to the museum during our usual opening hours. All contributions will be displayed as part of our Higginson Park centenary event on 20th June  Celebrate 100 years of Higginson Park on the 20 June 2-4pm Join us to celebrate 100 years of this wonderful community space. There will be: ðŸŒ± Tree planting ceremony ðŸš¤ Story-telling by renowned children's author Simon Mole. ðŸŽ¨ En Plein Air painting with the Community Painting Group ðŸš¶ Local history tours of the park  Please secure your free place by booking here ðŸŒ¿ Children’s trail of Higginson Park And a display of our community created Birthday Bunting! Come and find us near the Little Green Boat Cafe to join in. 

 
 
Self-Guided Walks around Marlow 
 
The Marlow Society's Walks Group organises walks around Marlow and surrounding areas throughout the Summer and their local history group also organises History Talks and Visits throughout the year. They have now produced a Self-Guided Walk, which highlights the twelve most prominent historic sites in the Town.  
 
The walk can be carried out:- 
a) in person, for which you can pick up a map for £1 in Marlow Museum, or 
b) virtually, via the Marlow Society website

On Saturday 23rd May, our new exhibition "Mr Jazz" opened, It illustrates the love for this musical genre of the late Michael Eagleton and his passion for photography. 
 
Remembering Marlow’s Mr Jazz - Concert at 7.30pm, 18th July, in Court Garden House. Join us for an evening of music and memories as we remember Michael Eagleton and celebrate his contribution to Marlow’s music scene. Tickets £20 available NOW from: tickettailor.com 
 
In conjuntion with the exhibition and concert, we are raising funds towards towards the exhibition, jazz evening and book that we are creating in memory of Michael. We’d also like to buy a screen for the museum to show Michael’s historic photos of Marlow. Our aim is to raise £1000. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein lives on! in a play staged on 5th October at Norden Farm Theatre, Maidenhead.  
 
In the Museum, we have the Frankenstein story for children on sale and booklets on Marlow Writers and a town trail of their former homes. 
 
 
 

Our recent exhibitions have featured: - 

Participation in the Bucks Culture Weekend, with poetry readings outside the Museum. 
The refurbishment of the Museum took place in the Spring and now shows a fresh face to all visitors, 
On the 4th April, we launched our exbibition, " Lace - From William Borlase to Pamela Nottingham" - Pamela was responsible for the surge in global interest for this craft. 
"Game On! - Sporting Marlow" is now closed and has been replaced by "Marlow's Mr Jazz" featuring the life of the late Michael Eagleton, Jazz enthusiast and photographic chronicler of so much in MArlow.. 

Visit Midsomer Marlow 

The Visit Buckinghamshire organisation have put together a 17 mile Visit Midsomer Marlow trail in and around Marlow, taking in a range of the picturesque settings used in the filming of the TV series Midsomer Murders. Why not start your tour from the Marlow Museum where you can pick up the trail leaflet.
